Inside-out Outside-in Books Project

Books allow offenders to participate in the world of civil discourse, ideas, learning and imagination from which they are physically excluded. Books have the potential to morally and intellectually elevate offenders above their confined circumstances and to prepare them for a life after incarceration. [1]


The Prison Freedom Project

Codron, co-founder of the Prison Freedom Project,says: “If you want to tackle crime and you get so scared by the statistics and your own personal safety, this is a programme that is actually addressing that.” Yoga rehabilitation for Pollsmoor inmates. [2]YOGA and Pollsmoor Prison may seem an incongruous match, but more than 90 inmates are taking advantage of weekly classes offered by volunteers keen to effect positive change.
